8 recent hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

The executives are listed below, alphabetically.

1. Richard Azizkhan, MD, president and CEO of Omaha, Neb.-based Children's Hospital & Medical Center, is retiring, effective Aug. 16.

2. Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health named Randall Castillo CEO of St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, Calif., effective Aug. 5.

3. Medical City North Hills hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas, has appointed Mark Deno CEO, effective Aug. 5.

4. Bill Kottman, president and CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., is retiring, effective Sept. 30.

5. East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro has tapped Stephen Pennington to serve as CEO.

6. Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health has selected Seth R. Teigen to serve as chief executive of Mission Hospital, with campuses in Mission Viejo, Calif., and Laguna Beach, Calif., effective Aug. 5.

7. Elaine C. Thompson, president and CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health, plans to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2020.

8. HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wis., has selected John L. Wagner to serve as president and CEO, effective Sept. 30.
