6 latest hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last two weeks. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Metairie, La.-based East Jefferson General Hospital President and CEO Mark Peters, MD, is retiring, effective March 16, 2017.

2. Hays (Kan.) Medical Center CEO John Jeter, MD, plans to retire, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

3. Grangeville, Idaho-based Syringa Hospital and Clinics CEO Joe Cladouhos retired.

4. White Plains, N.Y.-based Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Executive Medical Director and CEO Mary Beth Walsh, MD, is retiring, effective April 1, 2017.

5. Jesús Garza is retiring as senior vice president of St. Louis-based Ascension Healthcare and market executive for Ascension's Texas Ministry, effective Aug. 1, 2017.

6. W. Larry Cash, president of financial services and CFO of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, will retire from his executive management position and the company's board of directors on May 16, 2017.
