Utica, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Health System has named William LeCates, MD, as president and CEO, effective Oct. 20.
Dr. LeCates will succeed Darlene Stromstad, who is retiring after nearly seven years with the health system, according to a Sept. 18 MVHS news release shared with Becker’s. He has served as the system’s COO for the past 14 months, overseeing clinical and operational support services, product lines, quality and medical education.
Prior to joining MVHS, Dr. LeCates was executive director at JPMorgan Chase, where he provided clinical oversight of healthcare operations at 22 U.S. health centers serving more than 150,000 employees. He also held multiple roles at Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network, including president and COO of Bassett Medical Center.
Ms. Stromstad will remain with the health system through the end of the year in an advisory role.
Mohawk Valley Health System includes Wynn Hospital, which opened in 2023 with 373 beds, as well as rehabilitation, primary care and outpatient services.
