22 latest hospital, health system CNO and CMO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system chief nursing officer and CMO moves in the last four weeks.

The CNO and CMO moves are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System tapped Nishant Anand, MD, to serve as executive vice president and CMO.

2. Stephen Bartlett, MD, CMO of University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, resigned after a nearly three-decade tenure at the institution.

3. Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, La., selected W. Dore Binder, MD, to serve as CMO.

4. Birmingham, Ala.-based Brookwood Baptist Health named Susan Bria permanent chief nursing officer of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala.

5. Santa Ana, Calif.-based KPC Health System selected Sumanta Chaudhuri, MD, to serve as CMO of Hemet (Calif.) Valley Medical Center and Menifee (Calif.) Valley Medical Center.

6. Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado appointed Mike DiStefano, MD, regional CMO of the Southern region.

7. Mount Airy, N.C.-based Northern Hospital of Surry County tapped Jason W. Edsall, MD, to serve as CMO, effective, Jan. 1.

8. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare tapped Ernest Franklin, MD, to serve as chief medical operations officer, effective Jan. 7.

9. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, tapped Ryan Heyborne, MD, to serve as CMO.

10. Memorial Health System in Abilene, Kan., tapped Angie Johnson, MSN, RN, to serve as its chief nursing officer.

11. Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado named Pam Johnson-Carlson, DNP, RN, vice president of patient care services and regional chief nursing officer for its Southern region.

12. Estes Park (Colo.) Health CMO Martin Koschnitzke, MD, resigned.

13. Medical City McKinney (Texas) tapped Jaya Kumar, MD, to serve as CMO, effective in February.

14. Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey (Calif.) Hospital named Joanne Laguna-Kennedy, MSN, RN, vice president of hospital operations and chief nursing officer. 

15. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives' Texas Division named Bradley T. Lembcke, MD, division senior vice president and CMO.

16. Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., selected Joshua D. Lenchus, DO, to serve as CMO.

17. Denver-based UCHealth named Tom Purcell, MD, CMO of UCHealth Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Hospital, which is set to open in March 2019.

18. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health named Kathleen Sanford, RN, chief nursing officer of CommonSpirit Health, the organization created by its merger.

19. Tom Smith, MD, vice president of medical affairs and CMO of Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, is retiring.

20. Connellsville, Pa.-based Highlands Hospital selected Richard Tiberio, MD, to serve as CMO.

21. Gifford Health Care in Randolph, Vt., appointed Joshua White, MD, to the CMO role, effective Jan. 1.

22. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health selected Robert Wiebe, MD, to serve as CMO of the organization created by its merger, CommonSpirit Health.
