15 recent hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker’s Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

1. Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System has selected Paula Autry to serve as president and CEO of Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, Mich., effective July 15.

2. Amita Health St. Joseph Hospital Chicago named John Baird CEO, effective June 20.

3. VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas named air force veteran William Caron CEO, effective June 10.

4. Lufkin, Texas-based Woodland Heights Medical Center named Drew Emery CEO of the 149-bed facility, effective July 15.

5. Ventura (Calif.) County Medical Center and the affiliated Santa Paula (Calif.) Hospital appointed John Fankhauser, MD, to serve as CEO, effective immediately.

6. Iredell Health System in Statesville, N.C., appointed John G. Green president and CEO in a June 24 announcement.

7. Wheeling (W. Va.) Hospital appointed Douglass E. Harrison as its new CEO, effective June 20.

8. Boston-based Partners HealthCare selected Anne Klibanski, MD, to serve as its first female president and CEO.

9. Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center tapped Dennis P. McKenna, MD, to serve as president and CEO, effective in 2020.

10. Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health appointed Jillyan McKinney CEO of Littleton (Colo.) Adventist Hospital, effective July 14.

11. HCA Houston Healthcare tapped Elizabeth Ortega to serve as CEO of the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston, effective July 22.

12. Steve Patonai, CEO of Lake Chelan (Wash.) Community Hospital, plans to retire, effective this fall.

13. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger named Jaewon Ryu, MD, president and CEO, effective July 1.

14. Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System in Shreveport, La., appointed T. Steen Trawick, MD, CEO, effective Aug. 12.

15. Randy White, president and CEO of Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Ind., has resigned amid the sale of the organization less than a year after its October 2018 filing for bankruptcy protection.
