The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Kathy Silver is retiring as CEO of Las Vegas’ University Medical Center of Southern Nevada on July 1.

2. Connie Schroeder is resigning as president and CEO of 25-bed Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, Ill., part of Quincy, Ill.-based Blessing Health System, on May 26.

3. Dan Ordyna was named CEO of 88-bed Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Ore, part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare, effective June 1.

4. Edward Miller, MD, will retire as CEO of Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Medicine and as president and CEO of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine on June 30, 2012.

5. Irving, Texas-based CHRISTUS Health made changes to its leadership team to meet future challenges. Gene Woods will become executive vice president and COO on June 1. Paul Generale, who previously served as vice president and chief financial officer for CHRISTUS St. Vincent Medical Center in Santa Fe, N.M., became vice president and senior financial officer of CHRISTUS Health on May 2. He is also serving as interim CFO for CHRISTUS Health until the position is filled.

6. Kevin Schoeplein was named CEO of Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare System.

7. Erik G. Wexler was named president and CEO of St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., effective July 5.

8. Craig McCoy was named CEO of Emory Johns Creek (Ga.) Hospital, part of Atlanta’s Emory Healthcare, effective May 16.

9. John Barrett will begin as CEO at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Va., the week of May 16.

10. Elizabeth Woodyard was named CEO of Petersburg (Alaska) Medical Center, effective in mid-July.

11. CFO Ken Johnson left Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kan., and COO Bill Wild plans to leave.
