11 latest hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker’s Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last four weeks.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Patrick Brilliant, president and CEO of Riverside (Calif.) Community Hospital, is retiring at the end of April.

2. Dayton, Ohio-based Kettering Health Network President Roy Chew, PhD, is retiring Feb. 15.

3. John Doyle, executive vice president of St. Louis-based Ascension and president and CEO of Ascension Holdings and Ascension Holdings International, will retire June 30.

4. Knoxville-based University of Tennessee Medical Center Senior Vice President and CMO Jerry Epps, MD, is retiring, effective April 15.

5. Matthew Gross, CEO of Norwalk, Ohio-based Fisher-Titus Health system, is retiring March 1.

6. Joseph E. Hoagbin, MD, CMO of CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs (Iowa), retired Jan. 18.

7. Jackson, Calif.-based Sutter Amador Hospital CEO Anne Platt plans to retire March 1.

8. David Pryor, MD, St. Louis-based Ascension’s chief clinical officer, is retiring June 30.

9. John Strange, president and CEO of Duluth, Minn.-based St. Luke’s, retired effective Feb. 6.

10. Boston-based Partners HealthCare President and CEO David Torchiana, MD, reportedly stepped down from his leadership roles Jan. 28.

11. Eileen Whalen, RN, president of University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt., is retiring in June.
