Joseph E. Hoagbin, MD, CMO of CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs (Iowa), is retiring Jan. 18, according to The Daily Nonpareil.

1. Dr. Hoagbin joined Mercy as an emergency physician in 1976.

2. Prior to becoming CMO, he served as campus medical director and quality officer.

3. During his tenure, he helped develop the hospital’s first occupational health program.

4. He also helped establish the Council Bluffs Emergency Medical Service system.
