10 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves were reported by Becker’s Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. As of Dec. 1, Richard Lofgren, MD, CEO of Cincinnati-based UC Health, will be the only CEO leading the health system.

2. Northwest Florida Healthcare named Michael Kozar CEO of Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Fla.

3. Shands Live Oak (Fla.) Regional Medical Center named Heath Evans CEO.

4. Granite City, Ill.-based Gateway Regional Medical Center appointed James Stanley assistant CEO.

5. Kimberly Lumia, president and CEO of Sharon (Conn.) Hospital, was replaced. 

6. Stillwater (Okla.) Medical Center named Denise Webber CEO.

7. Melbourne, Fla.-based Wuesthoff Health System named CEOs for two of its medical centers. Ron Gicca was named CEO of Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne. Gary Malaer was named CEO of Wuesthoff Medical Center – Rockledge (Fla.).

8. Roger Howard, president and CEO of Lawrenceburg, Ind.-based Dearborn County Hospital, will retire next year.

9. Tim Brierty, who served as CEO of San Antonio-based University Hospital for five years, confirmed he is no longer at his post.

10. Michael Connelly, president and CEO of Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, N.H., announced his resignation.
