White House issues RFI for cyberincident response services

The government is seeking information on services that could help agencies prevent and respond to cybersecurity incidents. Through its request for information, it appears the administration is considering aggregating in one place a sort of marketplace where agencies could buy response services, reports Nextgov.

This push for stronger cybersecurity tools is part of President Barack Obama's $19 billion Cybersecurity National Action Plan announced in February which seeks to lay the foundation for long-term improvements in the government's approach to cybersecurity.

The RFI seeks information on consolidating preventive, reactive and "fix-it help" on the government's pre-approved IT contractor list, according to the report.
