Although the IT industry is growing, lack of diversity continues to be a problem. Which cities have the most and least diverse tech workforces?

Paysa, a consumer services organization, recently surveyed 60 U.S. companies and 1,143 job titles in the IT industry on metrics including ethnic diversity.

Here are the most and least diverse cities for IT positions, according to Paysa.

Most diverse

  • El Paso, Texas — 37 percent of IT workforce comprised of Caucasian employees
  • Miami — 38 percent
  • Fremont, Calif. — 39 percent
  • Milpitas, Calif. — 43 percent
  • Edison, N.J. — 44 percent

Least diverse

  • Eau Claire, Wis. — 97 percent of IT workforce comprised of Caucasian employees
  • Asheville, N.C. — 97 percent
  • Springfield, Mo. — 97 percent
  • Burlington, Vt. — 97 percent
  • Sioux Falls, S.D. — 97 percent
