Here’s what you need to know:
1. The average health IT salary is $93,469; the median is $85,000.
2. The average bonus earned by health IT professionals is $7,603; the median is $4,150.
3. The 2015 health IT salary report from HealthITJobs.com found that men and women earned similar salaries; however, this year the survey showed that, on average, men earn 14 percent more than women in health IT.
4. Hospital and healthcare organizations employed 51 percent of the 802 survey respondents; however, consulting companies — which employ 30 percent of respondents — pay the most.
5. A total of 79 percent of respondents reported being “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with their current job; however, 40 percent still reported being likely to change jobs in the next year.
