Children and Families of Iowa’s mental health program offers in-person therapy and, following the session, connects patients with an off-site psychiatrist via video consultation to prescribe medication. Once a year, the psychiatrist will travel to the remote locations for a face-to-face meeting with the patient, according to The Messenger.
Children and Families of Iowa has served 112 patients via telehealth during the first half of the 2016 to 2017 fiscal year, according to The Messenger.
