Study Shows More Primary Care Physicians and Specialists Using EHR

More primary care physicians and specialist doctors are using EHR and other healthcare IT, and more than half own smart phones, according to a study by survey research company Knowledge Networks in conjunction with the Physician Consulting Network.

The study, which surveyed nearly 11,000 healthcare professionals, showed 52 percent of specialists and 50 percent of PCPs said they keep their patient records in an electronic format, a 10 percent rise for specialists and 12 percent rise for PCPs since 2008.

The study also found over half of PCPs and specialists own smart phones.
