Stafford County Hospital — a critical access hospital with only 25 beds — uses a portable unit connected to a stethoscope, an otoscope and a blood pressure cuff to transmit readings between the patient at the hospital and the remote physician.

The first specialties that Stafford County Hospital will offer via telemedicine services include endocrinology and dermatology. Through this partnership, Stafford County Hospital hopes to provide more specialized care to the local population, who would otherwise have to travel extended distances to other healthcare facilities.
