Jigsaw ransomware demands payment in bitcoins, usually ranging in amounts from $20 to $200, according to the report. If victims don’t pay up after the initial 24 hours, the malicious program will delete files every hour. Once 72 hours pass, Jigsaw will completely delete any remaining files.
Though this type of ransomware inspires a sense of urgency, there is a decryption solution available, according to the report. Computer help site BleepingComputer offers step-by-step instructions to circumvent the ransomware.
