Dr. Steve Morgan is a Senior Vice President and the Chief Medical Information Officer for Carilion Clinic. He has responsibility over clinical informatics, and data analytics for the health system. Dr. Morgan helped to lead the systems implementation of an enterprise wide EMR in 2008, and the development of an enterprise data warehouse and our data governance program over the last several years. He co-leads Carilion’s digital health program including telemedicine and is a board member of Doctor’s Connected, Carilion Clinic’s accountable care organization.
A board-certified physician in family medicine, Dr. Morgan graduated with a BS in biology and chemistry from The Virginia Military Institute and earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Dr. Morgan still sees patients and is an assistant professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
