Last February, President Barak Obama called for the creation of set of industry standards and best practices to act as voluntary guidelines for organizations in a variety of sectors, including healthcare.
Created through public-private collaboration, the resulting framework, uses sector-neutral language to address and manage cybersecurity risks without adding extra costs or regulatory requirements to an organization.
The NIST has plans to modify the framework as needed based on feedback from organizational users. Feedback can be sent to cyberframework@nist.gov.
