(Reston, Va.) Feb 25, 2016 – Health, national security and engineering company, Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), and FairWarning, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that expand trust in Electronic Health Records, Salesforce and cloud-based applications, today announced they have signed an agreement to provide commercial and public sector healthcare customers with real time, continuous monitoring of both internal and external advanced persistent threats (APT) to Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in a unified environment.

Under the terms of the agreement customers will be able to utilize a complete managed security service that provides around-the-clock monitoring of digital activity across the enterprise including internal and external access points.

By uniting Leidos’ Health Information Technology Services with FairWarning’s Patient Privacy Monitoring solutions and expert team of Managed Privacy Services professionals, healthcare organizations will receive a coordinated and holistic view of their organization’s security landscape to effectively protect and quickly respond to potential breaches – thus protecting against internal and external bad actors.

“We are pleased to be working with FairWarning to combine their long-standing expertise in protecting electronic health records from insider threats with Leidos’ deep expertise in healthcare and national security,” said Jon Scholl, Health and Engineering Business Unit President. “Healthcare organizations are a top target for cyber criminals and others looking to profit from patient information. By employing 24X7 managed security services, healthcare organizations can devote their employees’ attention to more strategic endeavors. The services enhance compliance and give their boards a better picture of the risks they face.”

“The motivations of bad actors to healthcare are entirely new and never before imagined,” said Kurt J. Long, founder and CEO of FairWarning. “Any organization managing protected health information must consider every possible attack vector, assume it can be compromised from every vector until it has proven it has not, monitor, analyze and respond in near real-time and coordinate across traditional vendor lines against coordinated external and internal attacks — the lines have completely blurred in this area. By working with Leidos to extend the reach of our solutions to new channels, we look forward to helping move the entire healthcare industry forward. “
