West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health has partnered with New Jersey Devils hockey player Jack Hughes on a multi-year initiative encouraging New Jersey residents to stay current on routine checkups and preventive screenings.

Under the agreement, Mr. Hughes will serve as a brand ambassador for the health system. The partnership expands RWJBarnabas Health’s more than 30-year relationship with the Devils, according to a Dec. 8 news release.

The Get Checked campaign urges individuals to schedule regular physician visits, obtain recommended screenings and access the system’s preventive and specialty care services. It will be supported by a multi-platform promotional and community outreach effort.

As part of the campaign rollout, a Get Checked television spot and a second commercial featuring Mr. Hughes and RWJBarnabas Health clinicians are set to debut in mid-December, with a full media schedule planned for 2026. A digital content series is also in development.

Additional promotional elements include more than 200 life-sized cutouts of Mr. Hughes that will be placed in hospitals, outpatient facilities, physician offices and affiliate rinks. The campaign will also feature digital and social media content, outdoor advertising, radio spots, and in-arena messaging and signage.

This initiative builds on RWJBarnabas Health’s longstanding Devils-related efforts, which include an annual 5K race, youth hockey support, hospital visits, blood drives, community screenings and cause-related events. The health system also features its logo on Devils home jerseys as the club’s first patch partner.
