HHS Unveils Final HIT Patient Safety Plan

The final Health IT Patient Safety Action and Surveillance Plan, designed to ensure the safety of HIT for patients, has been released by HHS.

•    Encourage reporting to patient safety organizations.
•    Train surveyors to identify safe and unsafe practices associated with HIT.
•    Develop priorities for improving HIT safety.
