Beginning in September, Singapore residents can register for a Fitbit Inspire device, which the health technology company launched in February for employers and health plans. The joint program, called Live Healthy SG, is part of Singapore’s Health Promotion Board, which implements policy and programs to improve the nation’s health.
Live Healthy SG, will go live in late October, and participants will receive a Fitbit Inspire for free if they commit to spending $10 a month on a one-year subscription for Fitbit Premium service, which includes health programs and one-one-one coaching. The service aims to help users adopt healthier habits in the areas of physical activity, sleep, nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
Through the partnership, HRB hopes to combat the nation’s rise in chronic conditions, including hypertension, type 2 diabetes and cancer. HRB chose Fitbit because of its potential use of technology to help improve population health. HRB will leverage its outreach channels to support Fitbit in encouraging participants to join the program.
