Fresenius Medical Care is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to a limited number of its internal systems.
The incident has not affected the company’s medical devices, patient care, manufacturing operations or business continuity, according to a Sept. 22 company statement.
Fresenius Medical Care said it took steps to contain and address the incident after discovering it and has brought in cybersecurity experts to assist with its response. The company also notified law enforcement.
The company did not disclose when the unauthorized access occurred, which systems were affected or whether any data was accessed or taken.
Fresenius Medical Care said it will comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements as its investigation continues.
