Oracle Health is expanding its reach beyond EHRs, introducing AI tools for clinical care, revenue cycle management and hospital operations while pursuing new partnerships across healthcare and life sciences.
The company’s efforts include AI-powered clinical assistants, new financial management capabilities and technology designed to connect patient care with administrative operations.
Here are six ways Oracle Health is broadening its technology portfolio in 2026, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Bringing AI into revenue cycle management: Oracle Health unveiled five AI capabilities Sept. 23 aimed at reducing denials, authorization problems and payment delays. The tools address prior authorization, clinical documentation integrity, charge capture, professional fee coding and appeals management. Oracle plans to embed the capabilities into its existing revenue cycle solutions and make them generally available to U.S. healthcare organizations in the coming months.
2. Developing an AI-powered oncology EHR: Oracle Health introduced a cancer-specific EHR Sept. 23 designed to support oncology care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up. Built on the company’s AI-powered ambulatory EHR, the system is expected to include an AI assistant that generates patient summaries, supports tumor board preparation and assists with treatment planning. Other planned capabilities include cancer treatment timelines, nurse navigation tools and integration of genomic, laboratory and imaging data.
3. Introducing AI assistants for nurses: Oracle Health launched a clinical AI agent for nurses in September, expanding its AI capabilities beyond physicians. The EHR-integrated tool supports voice-enabled charting, patient information searches and acute nursing summaries. Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System is an early adopter of the technology. The launch follows Oracle’s introduction of its Clinical AI Agent for physicians.
4. Expanding AI-powered physician workflows: Oracle Health expanded its Clinical AI Agent in August with automated professional fee coding, AI-powered chart review and clinician-controlled dictation. The coding capability analyzes patient visit conversations and recommends charge codes for physician review, while chart review surfaces relevant medical history, laboratory results and medications. Oracle said the agent’s note-generation capability has saved physicians more than 400,000 hours across U.S. healthcare organizations in nearly two years.
5. Reimagining the patient portal with AI: Oracle Health’s AI-powered patient portal became generally available across the U.S. in August. The portal integrates with Oracle’s EHR and allows patients to review visit summaries, medications and upcoming laboratory tests. An embedded AI assistant answers questions about patient information in plain language and provides citations. The tool is designed to avoid offering diagnoses or treatment recommendations, instead directing patients to healthcare professionals or emergency services when appropriate.
6. Connecting clinical research with healthcare delivery: Oracle Health and Life Sciences and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced an AI collaboration Oct. 20 focused on clinical trial recruitment, earlier diagnosis and integrating research insights into care delivery. The companies signed a nonbinding term sheet to explore using Oracle’s real-world data, cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities alongside AstraZeneca’s clinical research expertise. Their first planned program will focus on hypertension care and clinical research in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in partnership with healthcare company M42. Additional projects are planned across the U.S., Middle East and Europe, subject to applicable legal, regulatory and other safeguards.
