The early 2025 hack of Oracle Health may have affected as many as 80 hospitals, The Beacon in Kansas City, Mo., reported.
Health systems have been notifying patients about the data breach of the EHR company’s legacy Cerner environment one by one, but Oracle Health has not disclosed the exact number of hospitals or individuals involved.
“This is one of the most massive breaches in the healthcare industry in the last couple of years,” Elena Belov, a plaintiffs’ attorney in a class-action lawsuit against Oracle Health, told the publication for the Dec. 4 story. “We still don’t know the entire universe. The list of affected hospitals has not been made public.”
Oracle’s attorneys informed Ms. Belov that 80 hospitals may have been impacted, potentially compromising millions of patients’ data, she said. The Beacon and Becker’s both reached out to Oracle Health for comment.
