The Cerner EHR will provide patients with access to a patient portal, called My Penn State Health, and access to single billing statements. The EHR replaces several disparate systems in place across Penn State Health. Penn State Health St. Joseph, for example, used a Meditech EHR.

The remaining outpatient sites affiliated with Penn State Medical Group and St. Joseph Medical Group will go live on the EHR during future phases of the project, according to the Reading Eagle.
