Island Hospital in Washington selects MEDITECH EHR

The board of commissioners at IslandHospital in Anacortes, Wash., has approved an agreement to implement MEDITECH’s EHR, reports Go Anacortes. The implementation will cost about $12 million over the next seven years.

Tom Bluhm, director of information systems at IslandHospital, said the implementation project will take about 15 months. That timeline includes designing and testing the product, training physicians and staff and the actual implementation process.

The $12 million investment includes the implementation, paying new full-time employees to help with the implementation, hardware, ongoing maintenance and fees to third-party vendors, according to the report.
