UF Health, based in Gainesville, Fla., has partnered with Epic to introduce a new EHR feature, MyChart Central. The tool allows patients to securely access their health information from multiple participating systems through a single login.
Launched Nov. 6 as part of a nationwide rollout for eligible organizations in the Eastern time zone, MyChart Central enables patients to view records, schedule appointments and communicate with care teams using one set of credentials tied to their Epic ID, according to a news release.
The platform includes password-free logins through passkeys and biometrics, automatic syncing of information across linked organizations, and simpler sharing of health records with third-party health apps.
Over time, MyChart organizations in Florida and throughout the U.S. will be on MyChart Central. The tool is aimed at streamlining the digital patient experience by consolidating access to medical information across providers.
The announcement follows the October launch of MyChart Central by health systems across Louisiana, marking the first statewide rollout of the platform in the U.S.
