Children's Health partners with Amazon to streamline patient package delivery

Dallas-based Children's Health has launched a pilot program to install Amazon Hub Lockers, enabling patients, families and employees to receive and return packages at the Children's Medical Center Dallas campus.

The program was developed based on feedback from families of long-term patients at Children's Health and the health system's Family Advisor Network. The resulting partnership is the first to place the Amazon lockers in a pediatric health system, and will provide patient families with uninterrupted access to necessary shipments while the hospital serves as their "temporary home," according to an announcement sent to Becker's Hospital Review.

There is no charge to use the lockers, which offer 24/7 access and secure storage. When ordering an eligible shipment from Amazon, families and employees simply choose the Children's Health locker as the delivery site; once delivered, they have three days to pick up the package. The pilot comprises one Amazon Hub Locker kiosk, with future plans to expand based on usage patterns and demand.

For added ease of use, turn-by-turn navigation to the Amazon Hub Lockers is available through the Children's Health mobile app.
