The app, called BayCare Compass, provides patients and visitors with specific directions to help them locate their destination at a hospital. The app features detailed maps of publicly available hospital floors, a directory of publicly available departments and clinics as well as driving and parking directions.

BayCare first launched the app at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., in August. It is about to begin deploying at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and continue on to other BayCare hospitals on a rolling schedule. BayCare plans to have the app deployed at all its hospitals by 2019.

Connexient, a provider of interactive wayfinding and patient engagement solutions, is powering BayCare Compass.
