“Essentially, we’ve built an immune system for patient data that identifies when medical records are accessed inappropriately,” co-founder Nick Culbertson said in a statement. “Our product gives health systems the ability to deeply understand how and why medical records are accessed, and whether or not there is a legitimate reason to look at a given patient’s medical or financial information.”
The company recently completed a pilot program launch with a statewide patient record system that hospitals use to access data in Maryland, co-founders Robert Lord and Nick Culbertson told Baltimore Business Journal.
In addition to expanding sales and marketing efforts, Protenus plans to grow its staff in the next year.
