AMA, health incubator MATTER partner on physician-entrepreneur collaborative

The American Medical Association and MATTER have entered a new partnership through which physicians and entrepreneurs will work in tandem to develop new technologies, services and products, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

AMA and MATTER are both headquartered in Chicago. By way of this newly formed partnership, the AMA Interaction Studio at MATTER will bring together physicians and entrepreneurs around the same table to discuss innovative ideas together. Physicians get a look at what the up and coming technologies may be, and entrepreneurs can talk to physicians about their needs and insights into the healthcare industry, according to the report.

"There's a huge amount of innovation and new technology sort of pouring into the healthcare world right now," said Steven Collens, CEO of MATTER. "A lot of the technologies that are being developed, and the products and services being developed, have some implications on how doctors interact with their patients."

The AMA Interaction Studio is said to resemble a physician's office, but it features an advanced level of technology that is flexible, allowing physicians and entrepreneurs to test ideas, according to the report.

MATTER is a health technology incubator providing resources to entrepreneurs and leaders in the healthcare industry to develop innovative products and services for the advancement of healthcare.
