As IT chiefs look to make their organizations AI-ready, they can follow four steps for success, CIO reported Aug. 11.
1. Staff according to your organization’s unique needs. That could include training current employees or bringing in outside leaders, from developers to data center operators.
2. Drive IT efficiency with AI. IT departments are exploring the use of AI to drive IT efficiency, at a time when productivity losses from IT-related delays can cost $1.5 million to $3 million for every 1,000 employees, per Forrester.
3. Decide who “owns” AI. Will that be the CIO, chief technology officer, chief digital officer, IT director or chief AI officer?
4. Be ready to deal with stress and pressure. CIOs have already told the publication they are dealing with increased stress from digital transformation; add AI to the mix, and the pressure rises.
