The National Record Locator Service allows members to quickly locate and exchange patient records. Currently, the service provides access to nearly 230 million patients and information regarding more than four billion interactions between the patients and their care teams.
Additionally, NRLS allows members to respond more easily to clinical data requests, as it automatically retrieves documents from the EHR system. The service operates within the Carequality Interoperability Framework, which is nationwide.
“NRLS is a powerful extension of their EHR capabilities that gives providers real-time, nationwide access to patients’ health histories across care settings, so they can reap the rewards of true healthcare connectivity,” said Surescripts CEO Tom Skelton in a statement.
