Wyoming Senate passes alternative Medicaid expansion bill

Last week, the Wyoming Senate Appropriations Committee signed off on a $20,000 sum for a bill that would create an alternative to Medicaid expansion in the state. Now, the Wyoming Senate has passed the alternative Medicaid expansion bill, according to Wyoming Public Media.

The bill will help form a program that will give assistance to individuals who can’t afford health coverage. Sen. Charles Scott (R), the bill’s sponsor, believes it will provide better coverage than Medicaid expansion could.

It passed in the Senate 22-8 and will now move to the House of Representatives.
