Polk Medical Center, Blue Cross Blue Shield Contract Still in Works

Polk Medical Center in Cedartown, Ga., and health insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia have not yet reached an agreement but are continuing to work toward a contract, according to a report from the Rome News-Tribune.

Polk’s previous contract with BCBS dissolved in April 2012, when Polk ended its affiliation with Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America and was acquired by Floyd Healthcare Management in Rome, Ga. Officials from both Polk and Floyd Medical Center are working to secure a new contract, according to the report.
