U of Arizona to place final beam in $165M innovation building

Tucson-based University of Arizona Health Sciences will place the final steel beam into its $165 million innovation building Nov. 17.

The new building is a nine-story, 220,000-square-foot facility that will train and foster collaboration among health professionals, students and faculty in nursing, medicine, pharmacy and public health.

The building will be equipped with clinical-simulation rooms to promote interactive learning and flexible learning areas for team learning.

“We’re re-imagining medical education, merging new technology, innovative curriculum and leading-edge design to provide our students with the most comprehensive training, knowledge and resources they need to be successful, team-oriented health professionals,” said Leigh Neumayer, interim senior vice president for UA health sciences.
