Rapid City Regional Hospital completes first phase of $200M expansion project

Regional Health Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital completed phase one of its $200 million expansion project, according to News Center 1.

The first phase included a multi-story parking structure, which added 1,200 parking spaces. In the stages to come, the 260,000 square-foot expansion will include a three-story entrance and a larger emergency department that will house 34 private rooms.

In addition, the ambulance garage will be expanded to fit six vehicles instead of two.

During construction, the entrance to the ED will be moved. The expansion project is expected to be finished in 2020.
