Intermountain Healthcare Foundation received a $50 million commitment from Larry and Heidi Canarelli to help develop Nevada’s first freestanding children’s hospital.
Five things to know:
1. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health will name the Las Vegas hospital’s inpatient tower the Larry & Heidi Canarelli Inpatient Tower, according to an Oct. 6 health system news release.
2. The tower is set to open in 2030 with 180 inpatient beds and room to expand to 228.
3. Planned services include a trauma center, emergency department, the state’s highest-level neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care, cancer center, behavioral health services, child abuse treatment center and advanced medical and surgical specialties.
4. Intermountain Health is expected to break ground for the hospital later in October at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in southwest Las Vegas.
5. The system launched a fundraising campaign in October 2025 for the $1 billion hospital.
