The 70,000-square-foot facility began operating three weeks ago, before Infirmary officials held a grand opening Thursday. The health system also received approval to add a freestanding emergency department.
The Saraland facility has two distinct halves, said Kenny Breal, vice president of clinical operations at Infirmary Health. The smaller half, approximately 10,000 square feet, is an imaging clinic that includes MRI and CT scanning machines, a digital X-ray bay, an ultrasound room, a mammogram station dedicated to screenings and a bone-density testing room.
The second half, which consists of 60,000 square feet spread across three floors, now houses Infirmary Health’s Northside Clinic. The clinic offers physicals, drug screening, a wellness clinic and a conference room for business and civic groups.
Infirmary Health serves an 11-county area of south Alabama and north Escambia County, Fla., with 700 active physicians and over 5,000 employees.
