The 25-bed hospital recently added a fourth surgery room, which increased patient volume and drove the need for an upgrade, said Scott Adams, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital.
The $3 million expansion includes a two-story, 10,000-square-foot addition that will be constructed on the 95,000-square-foot facility’s south end, between the emergency department and the intensive care unit. Ten same-day service rooms will be located on the lower floor, which will increase the hospital’s total same-day service rooms to 22.
“We’re developing plans for additional expansion needs, such as space for physician practices, a family medicine residency program … community education and professional development, and alternative ways for providing care, like telemedicine,” Mr. Adams added.
Construction is expected to start in April and will take approximately one year to complete. The expanded services are expected to begin operating in 2019.
