Bozeman (Mont.) Health Deaconess Hospital plans to invest $75.5 million in an expansion project that will double the size of its current intensive care unit and add southwest Montana's first neonatal ICU, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
Here are five things to know.
1. The $75.5 million project proposal calls for a three-story, 30,000-square-foot building, which will house administrative departments on the first floor and the expanded ICU on the second floor. The third floor will remain vacant for now.
2. After the new building is constructed, the existing hospital building, which houses physician offices, will be renovated into a center for women and children. The main entrance of the hospital will also be upgraded.
3. The new ICU will house 20 beds, in comparison to the current ICU, which hasd eight.
4. The project is part of an effort to ensure residents can receive treatment close to home, according to Bozeman Health President John Hill.
5. Construction is slated to begin late 2018.
