The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.
1. WVU Medicine to build 10-story tower
Morgantown, W. Va.-based J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, the flagship facility of Morgantown-based WVU Health System, will build a $152 million, 10-story patient tower to house WVU Medicine Children's.
2. Washington approves CHI Franciscan Health's $500M replacement hospital
The Washington Department of Health approved Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health's proposal for a $500 million replacement hospital Tuesday.
3. Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge gains approval for $195.5M expansion
Morganton, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge recently received approval for its $195.5 million expansion project.
4. Beth Israel Deaconess to build 10-story patient tower
Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is planning to build a new 10-story, 345,000-square-foot inpatient building — its largest construction project in more than two decades.
5. River's Edge Hospital and Clinic to begin bidding for $33M expansion
St. Peter, Minn.-based River's Edge Hospital and Clinic will begin the bidding process for its expansion after the town's city council and hospital commission approved the plans Thursday.
6. Ochsner Health breaks ground on $20M cancer center expansion
New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System broke ground Thursday on a $20 million cancer center expansion at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, La.
7. Alabama hospital to relocate to replacement facility Nov. 14
Wedowee (Ala.) Hospital will relocate to its replacement facility in the same city—named Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama — Tuesday.
