Patients struggle to obtain records from shuttered Michigan medical center

Former patients of Otsego, Mich.-based Monarch Health have been unable to reach the clinic to obtain copies of their medical records, according to FOX17.

In June, Monarch Health abruptly shut its doors. Patients say the clinic gave them no notice that it would be closing. Since closing, patients have not been able to contact the clinic.

“I left probably three or four messages on the number that they gave, and I sent a written request, probably the next day, for my medical records. So, it’s been almost a month, and I haven’t gotten a reply,” one patient told FOX17.

Former Monarch Health partner Alex Runowski, MD, said the clinic was owned by nurse practitioner Dana Harmon, who has sole access to patients’ medical records.

Monarch Health and Ms. Harmon did not respond to FOX17 for comment.
