Three details:
1. Epic will apply InterSystems’ IRIS Data Platform as the foundation for its EHR. The platform is now generally available to Epic customers.
2. The Verona, Wis.-based EHR giant has been partnered with InterSystems for more than 40 years.
3. The data technology company will help improve Epic’s performance and scalability; Epic supports a community of healthcare organizations whose systems support 2.5 million concurrent users and process about 1.8 billion database accesses per second across all customers using Epic.
