Retail giant Walmart is one of the largest employers in the country, and the company has big plans to take on healthcare.
Six Walmart Health updates:
- In February, Walmart Health named Brody McConnell as its new director of innovation.
- Walmart Health named former Cigna executive Brian Setzer its new executive vice president.
- Walmart partnered with CareSource on a three-year deal aiming to reduce healthcare disparities.
- In March, Walmart announced it would open 28 new Walmart Health centers by the first quarter of 2024.
- Walmart, along with other healthcare disruptors, is looking to enter the clinical trials business.
- In April, Walmart announced the planned opening of four new health centers in the Oklahoma City area.
