Could Apple AirPods detect Alzheimer's?

Apple has filed a patent for technology that would allow AirPods to track brain activity in another move in the healthcare wearables race for the tech giant.

The technology could be used to measure biosignals for electroencephalograms, or EEGs, according to the July 20 patent.

Some observers have suggested the device could be used to tell people when they need a break, analyze which music makes them most productive and even identify biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease, Creative Bloq reported.

AirPods might also soon get the ability to detect whether users have a cold and analyze their hearing, while the new iPhone could have artificial intelligence to monitor users' health. Apple is also reportedly developing a device to monitor blood glucose levels. And its new $3,00 mixed-reality headset could be used by surgeons.
