From big retailers to venture capital firms, 2023 saw a variety of disruptors entering the healthcare market.

Here are four new healthcare disruptors:

  1. In October, nutrition and wellness company GNC began offering healthcare services through new membership plans that offered virtual urgent and primary care.
  2. In October, venture capital firm General Catalyst announced that it was shopping for a health system to own and operate.
  3. In September, Costco partnered with Sesame to offer virtual care through its membership.
  4. While Instacart launched its healthcare division, Instacart Health, in 2022, the company expanded its healthcare presence in 2023 through high-profile partnerships with payers and hospitals.
