Miami University’s Health Sciences and Wellness facility will now bear the Cleveland Clinic name, following a vote by the university’s board of trustees to approve a sponsorship and naming agreement.

The 165,000-square-foot facility, renamed to the Cleveland Clinic Health Sciences and Wellness facility, was built in 2023. It houses classrooms, simulation labs and clinics, and serves about 1,300 students across three academic programs.

University officials said in a Sept. 17 news release that the naming reflects a growing partnership with Cleveland Clinic that combines healthcare education with research in emerging fields, including quantum computing.

In January, the university and the Cleveland Clinic launched Ohio’s first specialized degree programs and research opportunities in quantum computing. In July, the state awarded Miami University $7 million to help launch the Ohio Institute for Quantum Computing Research, Talent and Commercialization — a statewide initiative developed with Cleveland Clinic.
