Users can gain access to Calm Health through their insurance plan. Once downloaded, users will fill out a survey to create a personalized mental healthcare plan. The app is fully HIPAA compliant, according to an Oct. 18 Calm news release.
Calm Health specializes in providing treatment plans to users with anxiety and depression. The company plans to add modules to help users’ mental health when dealing with physical conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
Previously, Calm specialized in sleep and mental health in the business world. Calm Health is the company’s first offering designed to promote both physical and mental wellness for payers.
“Calm Health will play a defining role in the future of how we care for our health, providing the first-ever solution for payers and providers to treat mental and physical health simultaneously,” Calm CEO David Ko said in the release. “Through work with partners, we will give millions of people access to the care they need, resulting in decreased comorbidities and overall cost of care.”
